Heads up here for anyone looking for a nice kids road bike. I'm selling my kids bikes, for all the bloody use they got outta them. One hates cycling and the other has inherited a new bike.

These were the top model Wiggins with carbon fork, and 9 speed Sora. They were £450 new, with ****e wheels and tectro brakes. I upgraded the brakes to Shimano / tiagra, on one and sram on the other (front brakes are long reach calipers so they're std "shimano"). I upgraded the wheels to aksiums, the tyres to Continental gp4000 II's, nice bar tape and posh bottle holders!

I researched the hell outta these when buying and there's nothing like them for the money. I got them ordered from the UK cos they didn't offer the sora model in Ireland. I think they're absolutely gorgeous and I think they're worth €300 each.

Edit top tube is about 50cm.

Can't find any geometry charts but it's the biggest size the come in. TT measures about 49-50. My two are tallish enough for 13 & 15 but we have the bikes a couple of years now, and they certainly haven't outgrown them.

You'd really have to try for size - like how big is a 16 year old, how long is a piece of string...

    I'm in Ballycullen / Knocklyon.

Sound. First to the door gets their pick of the two! :)

(the other one is red in tape and cages)

I’m out so... too big for my kids. Was hoping they were the 43.

Depending on height I might know of a fairly immaculate Islabike Luath 24 for about the same price. Might also be too big though?

For a while there, I thought, I'd fallen into a coma for about 8 years.

I'm interested but need to check sizing etc. PM sent
    Offer asking pending inspection.

    Sold. And sold.

Thanks Lumen and Idunnowho. Best of luck with them.

Ten years and ten bikes later, I think this officially ends my campaign to make cyclists of my kids. A campaign ending ultimately in failure. - Henceforth all my bargain bike offerings shall be adult sized.

i see your mistake. you should have refused to buy bikes for your kids - in fact, refused to allow them to cycle at all. that's how you'd have made it seem cool.
