In terms of box speed, EPG and series link recording, is there one that does all of that for free to air,

is there any that also have saorview channels?

Off the shelf, no, I use a Humax for UK TV, all of the above but no Saorview, I use a Samsung recorder for Saorview, a one for all remote does both.
There are boxes which can do most of what you are looking for but you have to configure them yourself, there a number of threads on Boards stepping you through the process.
The Sky Q lnb might need to be changed also.

Save your sanity and families life and stick with SkyQ destroys anything else on the market.

Did you perhaps miss the "Free to Air" requirement?

As for "your sanity and families life" reference it is as ridiculous as it reads!

If you have a satellite feed and an antenna for Saorview there are plenty of boxes that will do exactly what you are looking for .
You will get all of the free-to-air UK channels from the dish and the Irish (Saorview) channels from the Antenna .

the way the estate is set up there is a dish & aerial shared between the 19 houses via an optical cable that carries the satellite and saorview signal into each house, you just need the appropriate convertor then to split the signals.

Im just trying to figure out whats the best and easiest option for the family to use! the humax looks good but i see reports that its slow.

im happy to pay a premium for a good stb but it seems there is a compromise with most things.

The humax 1100s is a superb box. Slow is not a word to describe it.

Very little on saorview these days unless you are into news and current affairs. I just use the tv's tuner for saorview and have a hard drive connected to the tv for recording and timeshift.

If the house has also been wired with ethernet cable back to a central point, such as a media press, then all the TV signals could be made available over the LAN to all parts simultaneously, and at the same time make the channels available on mobile devices also.
But if the requirement is for one TV point then this would not be the most suitable solution.

No point. There are no fta 4k channels.
You won't get any series link for saorview unless you buy the saorview connect box (don't!) or a linux box that will require some set up.

A lot depends on what your needs are. Do you need tv in several rooms?

A fire tv stick can be used in bedrooms for netflix, prime, iplayer, etc.

i have a centrally distributed system, so there is a 4k hdmi matrix in the utility and it sends tv around to the various rooms.
