TT EV would be really cool. Love the looks of the TT, always have done. Very handy for me personally to have the extra seats too.

Owned a '99 for a while, but the quattro system was a bit soulless to drive and I didn't like the turbo lag, so I replaced it with a Boxster.

It more and more looks like the 2018 really was the peak ICE year as some experts have predicted.

Surely a TT EV is a no brainer down the line.

Sure hope so. Was close a nearly new beautiful TT the other day and then the owner started the engine. Sounded like a sack of spanners. 4 pot diesel. Pathetic. We have truly sunk very deeply to have diesel sports cars

    Title should read casualty!

According to Bloomberg Audi are discontinuing the TT and possibly A8, to focus on electric. They've ambitious plans to have 5 full EVs (and 7 Phevs) on the market within 2 years!

    Source bloomberg:

Looks like they plan to build an electric A8 and an replace the TT with a electric car, maybe they might call it the e-TTron!! But it looks like the R8 is in trouble, as they plan to discontinue it.

The interesting part of the article for me is "Audi plans to launch five fully-electric and seven plug-in hybrid models within the next two years." So we have the current e-tron already, so what others cars are in the pipeline for full electric within two years? There's a planned Chinese Q2L e-tron so that could be one and maybe the e-tron GT, that other cars are coming?!

Tony Stark was driving an e-tron concept that looked a lot like that in the latest Avengers film :o

Would guess they might use the new VAG MEB platform ( VW ID, seat el-born, skoda Vision iv) to build an A3/ A4 type car and a Q3 style SUV?

Considering the TT is based on the VW Golf, not too far to imagine the lineage.
