David Icke? Remember him. The guy who said he was Jesus. Well, it seems every emerging way out politician in Europe and America these days seems to be a version of David Icke after watching too much Handmaid's Tale. Might as well call it the Sons of Icke party worldwide convention. Blessed be the fruitcakes.

Yes, that's him. He was a footballer before he became the son of god:

I always felt sorry for him.

    Eye-K.

He loses me a bit when he's going on about lizards in human form however he's actually sounded progressively saner since 1990 albeit staying the same, what does that say about the world?

I was just talking about him in another thread called "Why the sudden hysteria over climate change?"....
    GLOBAL WARMING SCAM .....
    according the david icke.

    https://youtu.be/MSkNIpNWX0k

Sometimes his theories sound somewhat plausable (like in the video above), other times he goes totally screw ball about lizard people and the like.

Icke is as mad as a box of frogs (or maybe lizards?) to be fair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Icke made more money from his Lizard books and talks than he ever did as a footballer and working for the BBC.

If Jesus was knocking around now he would probably be making YouTube videos and going around giving talks..

People would probably be calling him mad too..

    Just saying..

    He has rheumatoid arthritis.

I haven't heard his son of God or Lizards thing, must have missed those, but I have seen a few recent snippets here and there. He is an odd ball, stubbornly wrong about most stuff, but accidentally right about some things, and somehow strangely endearing.
He is rather old fashioned now, with his hair style, politeness and far out conspiracies. For all his weirdness I would way prefer him sitting beside me on the train to Dublin, from what little I have seen of him, over any of the other insufferable and so-called 'normal' talking heads that populate the air waves.

I’d hate to get the same train as you.

Yep. Reckons the worlds 'elite' are shape-shifting reptiles. Terry Wogan tore him to shreds back in the early 90s and Mr Icke was laughed off the stage, essentially 'sending him to Coventry' as the old saying goes :pac:
He's been building up quite a following lately however, I watched a YouTube doc he made and if I'm honest he seems like an intelligent, articulate and amicable man, albeit an absolute spacer.

So he spouts absolute nonsense except for when it's nonsense you agree with?

Haha yes that's what I found, mad as a bag of spiders in some ways but I quite like the old loon, and he speaks very well. He seems lovely in fact. I saw an out take where he was laughing and joking and he was endearing. Great teeth too ! :D

Exactly. It's amazing what a bit of gravitas and articulation can do to his frankly outlandish beliefs as it can lure in gullible people. He is an interesting character, professional conspiracy theorist and there's a market for this kind of stuff which he is happy to cash in on. It's not like he is rabid and bullying about his beliefs either so he's pretty harmless.

Id wager he has been wrong about quite a lot too, not that it was the point of my original post.

He has made a fortune with all his nonsense, no idea if he actually believes it or if its just business. I remember seeing he did a sold out show in The Helix not so long ago, the tickets were expensive 100 quid or more.

I wouldn't be a tin foil hat owner but I watched one or two of his 20 minute interviews on 5G and AI and regardless of how you might disagree, any eejit can see the logic in much of what he says. Yes he's come out with some looney stuff I believe in the past but that doesn't mean he's an idiot either. he did a good one on with Eamon Holmes on BBC radio and a lot of it was true and I could see a lot of what he spoke about actually beginning to happen, give it a watch.

It might be a case of any broken clock is right twice a day but I found it intriguing.

    The Royal family are strange.

    I don't think he's hurting anyone.
If you enjoy what he says listen, if not he's not exactly being rammed down your throat.

    Glazers Out!

Was he one of the 1st to highlight that Savelle fella? Think he also mentioned Heath (neither was ever charged, but both carried much speculation).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,313 ✭✭✭✭branie2

He also had something to do with Brendan O'Donnell

He claimed he knew about Saville after the story came out, prior to that he never mentioned him despite writing books where he named other people.

From memory this was one or two decades ago, and he expanded upon Jimmys interest in the dead (never really reported/mentioned elsewhere).

Heath was never charged, and all cases were thrown out (again, such as this month). One very stange coincidence is think that Health appeared (slightly randomally) on that Jim'll fix it tv show as a 'special guest'.

I might have gone but the tickets were pricey. I love a bit of scifi...
