    Hi,

I have to reconfigure a short section of black mains polyethylene pipe in a pump house at my house. What size is this black pipe normally? Bungalow built in 1985. It looks like 3/4 but just want to verify before I go and get fittings.

    Thanks.

Should be 3/4",if its thin wall it will need inserts.

It usually has the size written on it about every metre. It was red writing for normal gauge and blue for heavy gauge. 1/2" heavy gauge looks like 3/4" normal gauge from the outside.
