This should be a humdinger :o

    Technical Overview:
A pan-flat stage to the edge of the Po Valley. After Casteggio, the route follows the traditional itinerary of Milano-Sanremo, up to 3 km from the finish. Starting from Carpi the route first heads towards Reggio Emilia. After crossing the town, it takes the ss. 9 “Via Emilia” all the way to Piacenza, following a straight course. Past Piacenza, the route takes the former Statale Padana Inferiore all the way to the finish, passing through several cities that have often been featured in the Giro route, and in the Milano-Sanremo finale.
The last 3 km are virtually straight, with some roundabouts in-between that will require no major diversions. The last bend is 3,000 m from the finish line. The home straight is 2,800 m long, on 7.5 m wide asphalt road.

Matteo Moschetti (Trek – Segafredo) was a DNS.

Definitely think there should be KOM points there at the end - what a climb (relatively). Viviani for the win...... come on, give a man a break, he'll be in floods ortherwise.

Still, with today being the last of the snorefest days, there are signs (ie no overall domination and lots of teams ready to try their luck against the inexperienced Jumbo Visma crew) that the next 10 days could be very interesting ......hopefully

If you can't take the excitement of the Giro today , the women's Emakumeen Bira is being shown on youtube at the minute.

Demare is the new provisional leader of the points classification. Ackermann may have thought he had it sown up until Demare won yesterday and he failed to score at the finish.

Heard Rob Hatch wish Sadhbh O'Shea well there, seems she's finishing up with Cyclingnews today.

Ackerman went a bit early there, if he was a bit more patient he would have won it. Of course Sam Bennett would have taken that one ;-) Nice to see Conor Dunnes teammate break into the top five today...

Demare finishing ahead of Ackermann puts him as leader of the points classification.
    And Viviani is going home
