looking for ideas on how to add a zoom option to my samsung s8 phone.
the phone is fine for me...battery life isnt terrible...and camera is actually sound, even in lower light.....but the only thing that would make me go to say a p30 pro is the optical zoom....most of what i snap is our dogs...and places like on the beach i often wished i could have zoomed in.

its got a 12 megapixel camera...i could crop but any large crops lose so much detail.

i could use a moment telephoto lens which is great quality but only 2x zoom....i'd like to go to at least 5x

are there any tips or other lens attachments worth trying ?....or should i just by a standalone camera ?

thanks in advance for any replies.

Forget it. There's no way you're going to get anything practical that gives even a reasonable quality. If you need zoom then a standalone compact camera is the way to go. Even the P30 Pro would be a bad idea given all Huawei's issues this week.
