 Just bought a new phone Huawei P Smart 2019 on Thursday
Great for the price - now today, news about Huawei and Google!
Was surprised that I couldn't get All 4 app from Google Play, keeps saying
'Your device is not compatible with this version'
Is this going to happen with all google stuff now?
Should I bring the phone back to shop and get another phone? ( Am with 3)
    Any thoughts?
would be still in buy grace period where can bring back ...
    Thanks

I doubt the sales person knew this was going to happen.

Take it back while you can, once the return period is over you are goosed.

Went back to the 3 shop to look at other models- was told that if I wanted a phone with similar specs as the Huawei P Smart, I'd need to fork out another 100/150 € or so
Only option for € 200 is Samsung J6 which seemingly is a lot inferior..
    Am torn now:confused:
Any thoughts that this deadlock with Huawei & USA will be sorted out?
Should I just give Huawei back and be done with it?
No other phone that I see in 3 shop or carphone ware house is any where near as good for the 200 price

Get a Xiaomi. You won't regret it.

Are they not another Chinese company though?
If the USA / China tariffs continue, couldn't the same thing happen with Xiaomi too?

I think the main issue is Huawei's link to the government. Not sure Xiaomi is under similar scrutiny

Xiaomi will just get hammered in tariffs, I think Android's sanctions on Huawei is Android's deathknell to be honest. Android was always an inferior system and iOS is only so popular because Android is so brutal. We will see something new emerge from China in the aftermath of this which will ultimately sink Android and Google with them.

The US and China are currently stuck in a trade war but are on a collision course for a full blown all out war. Trump and America can see China's ascent as the pre-eminent global power of the 21st Century and what we are looking at here is not just about trade it is the very survival of the US itself. American has to act now to keep itself as the worlds sole superpower, they are trying to destroy the Chinese economy in the hopes of stirring internal rebellion against the Chinese Communist Party, this however is already backfiring as the Chinese propaganda machine goes into over-drive against the US. A shooting war will soon follow and WWIII, American must preserve the PetroDollar and its global economic hegemony and if they don't act soon the Chinese could win in a future war so the US seems ready to take them out now whilst they still can.

I don't know whether the fanboy hat or the tinfoil hat is taking precedence there.

Only just heard of One plus- will go check them out
    Thanks for the suggestion :)

I thought they said any phone out now is grand. Its just gonna be the future Huawei devices? All4 wouldn't have anything to do with it. I'd say that's just a coincidence.

No some apps aren't compatible with the latest versions of android ,

For instance I can't get the Dublin bus app on my p20 pro but a my kids has it on my old Huawei P9.

I think people are jumping to a lot of conclusions without looking at the facts first

+1 for the Xiaomi. Just upgraded my Redmi 4x to a Redmi 7, amazing phone for the price.

My older Huawei Y6 from 2016 does get All 4 and the brand new Huawei I just bought won't.
Do find that very odd though, All 4 and the Dublin bus app s would be very popular
How do you know which phone would be able to get your favourite apps?

It's all down to the app developer, though Dublin Bus is supposed to work with 9 since the last update. Dublin Bus Pal is better anyway and is working fine on the 10 beta on my phone.

    One Plus?

The OP has a budget of 200e and doesn't want to spend an extra 100-150e. I have a 6T, so know how good they are, but how is a 600e phone an option here?
