These days, I see a lot of threads talking about all sorts of stuff.

Be it TV, Politics, Leadership, Housing, Immigration.

It jumps out to me that criticism gets levelled at Men and / or Women.

Who do you feel gets the most and from who?

My gut at the moment feels like Women are getting a lot of criticism from men.. but that might be from hanging around SciFi / Superhero TV and Films threads where there is a trend of new opportunities opening up for Women roles.

Who gets criticised most? and who does the criticism? 18 votes

Women get criticised most. Mostly by Men.

Overall, 50/50 I'd bet. Specific places/issues and it's sometimes men, sometimes women.

When posters are having a go at each other on AH I have no idea whether they are men or women. Sometimes others suggest that they are schoolchildren who should not be here.

Men get criticised most. Mostly by Women. Wins by 100% so far because I was the first to vote

I believe that women get judged a lot more on their appearance, weight and outfit decisions from both men and women than men would. Also mothering is a big thing, women are under constant fire there.

Men would get judged on their attitude towards women and children, their role as "the head of the family" and I believe there are certain things men don't get away with as easily as women. Also there's a general suspicion towards men that they're all violent and crazy and could all be dirty cheaters and rapists. The excuse "It's in a man's nature" comes to mind.
While women would be more often judged on being a gold digger and leeching in a relationship, plus having the cards in their hands regarding false accusations.

Women would get judged more on their decision regarding family and children, while men are under closer societal observation on their attitude towards both.

So all in all I think both get judged harshly, but in different ways and about different things.

That's in real life. The OP was asking about threads on Boards.

Oh definitely women in that case, but I don't think they mean just Boards.

I think it hugely depends on the topic. Anything weight or social welfare, women get more slack.

There are also plenty of topics where it's about guys messing up big time but I feel that men are in the majority here and defend certain actions of other guys.
    But again, it's topical.

In the western media, white heterosexual males are now portrayed as some sort of evil sub human trash.

So it's natural to expect some push back on forums like this where there is a bit more freedom of speech permitted.

I just reread the OP. Definitely asking about threads on Boards only.
