Life Insurance - Death Caused by Alcoholism

    Hi,

A quick query - If life insurance cover is provided with a mortgage and at the time the person at hand was proven to be in full health, can an insurance company deny life insurance cover if the same person dies as a result of alcoholism developed over a short period and years down the line?

We are in this position and are being asked to provide medical records, which we will do but I just want see if anyone here has a similar experience.

Are they just hoping that they were an alcoholic at the time of obtaining cover or does the fact that they became one over time, now void the cover?

If the medical questions (including alcohol consumption) were answered fully and honestly at proposal stage I can't foresee an issue with a claim.
