They’re waiting on Larry for the final details, he’s not sure yet if he wants €60m or €65m of the €100m pot, doesn’t want to seem too greedy.

Sure apply for a million. They can only turn you down.
I see in the indo that Japan are taking over 30 month irish cattle. Mad to sending beef that far. Must be under cutting the Aussies.

I've increasingly come to the opinion that government policy is to feed the world, drive production from farmers to benefit the Larry's and Siobhan's of Irish business.
Everything else such as rural Ireland benefiting is a smokescreen.
The money's more likely being spent in Monaco than Macroom.

    Anyway back to topic!!

But are they taking any cattle really ? According to Agriland article quoting CSO figures of 840 tonne €3.6m sent last year the vast majority of it was beef tongue which it seems is a delicacy over there and other ofal.
So something we dont get paid for some else gets €3.6m !!

Yes and that's only a small part of the fifth quater!...the real meat is be sold at the cost of production and in big deals below by the factories. It's been a race to the bottom by the beef barons for a few years now hense the poor farmer returns.
