I'm in the middle of completing one of these forms. Job is already mine (unofficially) but I still have to go through the rigmarole of the interview. Now, they've given me one of these forms to complete with 6 sections to fill in and all I can think of in response is lies. Surely not the best way to start off my new position?

Gerry. look up under acronym STAR and it will all become clear - as mud. I found this whole idea to invite lots of waffle. However when you think through your work experience you will find the situations, as in S, etc. that you need to complete the form.

I would echo what PMBC said regarding the STAR.

Also look up the company's values/pillars or whatever they have - normally found in the 'About Us' section of their website or in their recent annual report. Usually things like 'Safety' 'Customer' 'innovation' ....etc.... and sprinkle some of these into your stars. That way the STARs you provide will easily resonate with the HR/Hiring Manager.
