its only harsh in relation to the ridiculously light sentences they usually hand out.

some ould f#cker got 2 years for raping a 6 year old there today. the rape way in 1979 but still.

34 counts of theft, premeditated, lots of prior convictions for theft. He deserved more.

Callous crime that left someone homeless
Doesn't feel too harsh to me.
She said it was particularly disturbing that he was aware that one woman he took a rental deposit from was living in a woman's refuge, yet he stole her money anyway, after having spoken to her social worker.

Gangland connection with one of the most vile gangs around and money laundering for them also wouldn't have helped.

Is it just me, or is this guy being given an extremely harsh sentence?

50K FOR 7.5 years is extreme. The guy is a scumbag, but 2 years + compensation for the victims would of been more appropriate imo.

David Drumm got 6, will probably do 3. Eamonn Lillis got 7, and did 5 for manslaughter. Something doesn't make sense here.

    Multiple previous convictions.
Premeditated lengthy crime carried out on multiple desperate victims.

Only the rabid far left could call this sentence excessive in my opinion.

Can you write a post without ranting about some chimerical "rabid far left"?
