What I'm wondering is if there are any ramifications for being absent past some threshold in 6th year, as in would some universities not accept you or would it preclude you from receiving scholarships, and is there anything worthy of mention past missing classes?

Universities won't find out. Schools can't share that sort of data with them.

Depending on the scholarship, it might make a difference, you would have to look at the criteria for each one separately.
