Hi all just wondering have any of you driven your ev in France and how did you manage charging and getting access to the charge points. Did you charge you car at camp sites ?
    Thanks

I posted about this last year, if you can find the thread. I used Chargemap and KiWhi, with the former being much better, with a great app for live status etc. Decent CCS network along the main routes in Brittany, except for a stretch from Rennes to Cherbourg -- though the warm weather helped the Ioniq make it without issue.

Destination chargers were available in most towns and villages I visited, never ICEd and could often pay by debit card directly on the machine.

Didn't bother charging at the campsite, though I didn't acknowledge my extension lead just in case. I imagine you may trip the electric supply if charging at full power from a mobile home -- I believe you can limit the draw in settings somewhere though.

Overall, did 2 weeks and over 1,000KM without any issue. The toughest part was the drive from Dublin to Rosslare, which was a CCS wasteland at the time!

Fantastic post thanks very much. There appear to be so many providers and I didn't know if I would need 10 different RFID cards. Unfortunately doing the run to Rennes but should be fine with 1 good charge and lunch if weather plays nice and stick below 110km/ph.

Download the Chargemap app and you can filter for supported chargers etc. Bit of pre-planning and you'll be fine.

I assume you would be using the outdoor sockets designed for caravans in this situation, the 16A blue IEC 60309 sockets seem to be typical for these? You could plug a granny charger into one with no chance of blowing anything, though you'd need a plug adaptor.
