What type of Japanese maple is this?

    Looks like an acer palmatum 'bloodgood'. Most of the good online garden shops in Ireland have them.

    Are they all that small? Or do they come in different sizes?

    Is it a miniature? Or is that the standard size. I just want to make sure I get the correct one. It's to match that one.

    Not a miniature, but you could keep it pruned to that height if you wanted to. I think they look better left a bit wild. Have a look on the rhs website for a few different species. They're slow growing mostly.
