    so three are closing their emali server at the end of this month,

    this was the previous outgoing;
    mail-relay.3ireland.ie

    what should the new one be? I have an eircom.net address but that server doesn't seem to work

    Thanks

    There isn't one. You are out in the cold. Either pay a third party for an SMTP service (try and find a free one?) or use webmail like GMail.

    You can send via GMail if you have a google account. Use the google SMTP for your eircom account but authenticate it with your gmail credentials.

    Ok, been using gmail as my server since may.

    If i send an email from my eircom.net email via gmail server, some, not all replies go to my gmail address.

    Any way to fix this?

    Easiest thing to do is use Eir's webmail web interface for sending from old Eircom.net addresses. Don't know if you can but ideally set your Gmail account not to delete the mail on the Eir(com) server so its still their when you go to webmail.eircom.net.
