My tax return have been filed on my behalf for me to Revenue. I am due nearly 4k back, how long does it take revenue to issue a payment? I have a ROS account set up and bank details entered correctly.

Self-employed Form 11 usually ( at this time of year ) processes fairly fast, next working day for assessment and refund statement usually a couple of days after. Larger amounts sometimes require manual intervention before approval so that would delay. Also other tax heads must be up to date.

PAYE Form 12 again usually P21 up on ROS in 1-2 working days and refund promptly after that.

If it's gone several weeks then whoever filed on your behalf ( if agent on record ) could check with Revenue to see why delay.

Thanks. I am in the self employed route but the return was filed in my behalf. I could be looking as early as next week tho?

If it was filed early this week then it could be next week but as I said, when self-employed ROS will check other tax heads VAT/PREM/RCT etc. and sometimes that can cause delay. Would be rare to take more than a couple of weeks though. One thing in particular if you're VAT registered make sure your annual VAT RTD (Return of Trading Details) have been filed up to date as Revenue have indicated that outstanding RTDs will delay refunds.

I am a contractor and have a company setup a company for me. I don't deal with VAT. They have done the tax return for me. I didn't claim anything bar just being overpaid on tax last year.
