Rotavating a garden - what size stones to remove?

Hi. We'll be getting our garden rotavated soon and i wanted to know what size of stones should i remove / not remove?

I know soil needs stones for drainage, so i don't want to remove stones which are actually helpful.

One online guide says to remove stones bigger than your fist.
Another online guide says to remove stones bigger than a matchbox.

    Any thoughts?

Stones are good but not at the surface. We did lawn last summer in the furnace and removed as many as possible. Def matchbox size. I had no end of them even after that. Soil settles and more stones are born. If you dig a trench in part of lawns or regularly spaced and move stones there to improve drainage and cover back with soil. Kills a couple of birds.
Good landscaping rakes and mindless workers (that was me). God it was hell
