No flowers and black leaves. What do we have and how do we fix? Thoughts welcome and appreciated

    Frost damage probably.

    Is it facing east?

Slight wind chill and frost damage. Absolutely normal and it will recover as the year progresses.

They don't flower until Summer and just don't prune between now and then.

If they do flower this year, leave the dead heads on for frost protection next Spring.
