Not something that'll ruin my BH weekend by any stretch of the imagination but has anyone else noticed the retraction of the HD part in the logo?

Wondering is this the start of the end for SD Sports?

All the Sky channels dropped the “HD” from their DOGs at the start of last week - UHD feed still has a “UHD” DOG.

I bet they won't drop their HD charges however.

it's ridiculous that charging for HD is still a thing. I don't think Sky will drop the charge any time soon as it's easy money for them, as long as people continue to pay for HD they will not be in a hurry to remove the charge.

Bandwidth costs money! You can fit way more SD channels into a transponder than HD Channels. Also sky have a lot of people on SD boxes that have no intention of upgrading

Virgin media had lots of people on analoge boxs and eventually had to bite the bullet and upgrade them when they wanted rid of them. No doubt sky will have to do the same when HD becomes the norm

Would have thought HD became the norm years ago! Sky have tried to upgrade SD customers as far as I know but many (elderly and those who don’t like change) will not switch over to the vastly different menu of Sky Q. Sky could just cut them all off but they would obviously lose a lot of customers. Either way they risk making less money than they are making today which a business will obviously not do. We are seeing channels such as eir Sport go HD only but that channel is slowly dying anyway. Realistically, having a SD, HD and +1 timeshift channel makes channels a lot of money. Why would they cut a revenue generating channel?
