    How long do you have to wait to receive the lease off your landlord? Keep being put off every time its brought up.

    you don't need a lease and if you are already in occupation your protected by RTB registered or not however it takes 6 months for the part4 to kick in so this over rules any lease

    You are covered under the terms of a Residential Tenancies Act Part IV lease- once you have been in occupation for a period of 6 months- irregardless of whether or not the landlord has given you anything whatsoever in writing. In a lot of cases- landlords have taken to simply copying and pasting the Part IV lease terms into a formal document- as they cannot have a lease that detracts from the protections afforded to a tenant in any manner under a Part IV lease.
