Really hoping for a big run from Lady Kaya in the 1000. She's trained down the road from me with Sheila Lavery and Robbie Colgan is a local man too so wishing them the very best. Small trainer and jockey with limited success up to now. Robbie only switched to a flat jockey last season as it was tough getting winners in the jumps game. I'd say half of Summerhill will be on.

Very open race, can see one of AOB’s outsiders winning. I’ll go for Fleeting

As often with fillies -anything can pop up but my reading of the form suggests that Skitter Skatter must have a decent e/w chance.
Would like to see her win for John Oxx - who knows what it's like to train a Guineas winner first run of the season.

Gifted Master won the 255 off the same mark last year in what turned out to be a very hot race. I’ll chance him to repeat the effort tomorrow in what looks a weaker race. On the warpath is favorite but does most of his running over further so hopefully Gifted Master can wear him down close home. 7/1 ew GL

Look Around each way for me in the 1k. Thought she ran well last time against the fav and really looked like the step up in trip will suit. 40s looks big on that run when the fav is 7/2.

    Fairyland for dettori and O'Brien

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 218 ✭✭Theonly way

    To to op;

The history of this event suggests that one needs to be against the jolly with winners of 66/1 25/1 14/1 etc and only one jolly.

The most likely reason for that is that they are fillies .And predicting the outcome well its near impossible.

If they do run to form which is highly unlikely have Fairyland 1 on top.But with no confidence even with its excellent record of
    80%-100%-5 .

Small bet on that one for me .But as stated near impossible to get stuck into one .

3 bets today and if I get a winner I will consider that as lucky as there are no standouts for me.

    3:20 pm Basic Law 2 50%-100%-2

    2:20 pm Worth Waiting 2 57%-86%-7

    3:35 pm Fairyland 1 80%-100%-5

Looking at this all week thinking Hermosa is the one . Decking price is gone now I’ll have to let her win unbacked .

I agree with the OP, and have a few Euro on Lady Kaya at 25s, and put more on this morning at 18s.
Famous last words - I like her pedigree.

Last year she was only 6th in the Cheveley Park Stakes (race comment: unfurnished) but that was only 13 days after a hard race at The Curragh.
Lady kaya looked good in her win this year at Leopardstown.

Saw this comment "unfurnished" - what does it mean?

Skitter Scatter was the best 2 year old in Ireland last year. Tough as any filly I have seen in a while. If she has trained on she wins.

Have a look at last years' Moyglare and see her off the bridle with 3 furlongs to go and see her still win cosy. 7 / 1 current price is a nice one.

Basically it means the horse is weak conformation.
I.e no mussel does not have a chest and more important will be weak behind meaning his/her hind quarters which is all important as that is where the power comes from.

    Just for the record
The Racing Post Predictor look at above the race card
    1) Qabala, by about three lengths
2,3,4,5,6) Iridessa, Hermosa, Dandhu, Lady Kaya, Fairyland in a photo for second, probably in that order.

I don't get the love for the hot favourite 7/2, Qabala.
Is she burning up the gallops?

Her favouritism is based on her win this year in the Nell Gwyn from Mot Juste (2nd) by 1 3/4 lengths, and Angel's Hideaway (3rd) by 2 1/2 lengths.
In her previous race Mot Juste (1st) beat Angel's Hideaway** (2nd) by 3/4 length i.e. exactly the same distance as in the Nell Gwyn.

** Angel's Hideaway was 8th in The Cheveley Park Stakes to Fairyland and 9th in the Lowther Stakes to Fairyland (11/1 today).
Fairyland might not last 8f today.

I'm having a saver on Fleeting at 21s.

Yeah 14/1 no good to anyone sure :/

I'm simple enough and will go entirely from form. Of which Skitter Scatter is ahead. Handled Lady Kaya and Just Wonderful handy enough to name a few and the extra furlong doesnt look like it'll make much of a difference. She doesn't seem to run a bad race which is probably most important here because horses tend to bottle the 1k often enough.

I like how Dandhu might shape also at a bigger 16/1. Will have a small bit on her also.

Well that was frustrating, a 20 minute delay to accommodate the rank outsider leaving the other horses to get restless. /Pockettalk

Ha!!!!!!!!! are the delay at the start the aptly named Worth Waiting 2

    Well done

I think path of thunder in the 4.10 is a good bet.
Was one of the most expensive horses at the breeze ups a few weeks ago, which would mean he done a very good time in his breeze, so we at least know he has decent ability.
Don't think the fav will be a group horse but the breeze up horse would have been bought on the expectation of him already being around that level.

Statistics nor trends never won a race.

Skitter Skatter in the big one for me with a side bet on Hermosa who is not a million miles off her.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,474 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

Yeah 14/1 no good to anyone sure :/

I figured she was value to stay on at 25/1 4 places . I’ll look on exchanges near off and if she is over 20 I’ll have a tiny win bet just in case

She stays further than that too, I'd say.

25s this morning. A really good Galileo filly.

Where did the statistical filly finish ?

    To the op:

Brilliant run and for sure a good horse.

Black type and just met one on the day .

    Fairyland 5th

Not too bad a prediction for the Predictor.

I'm baffled how that yoke Iridessa was allowed to go off as 6/1 second fav??

Lady Kaya beat it fair and square LTO yet was 16s earlier

Hermosa finished just over a length behind it a while back but was 25s earlier????

Why the huge difference in price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,092 ✭✭✭The Tetrarch

Not a horse racing post but
I put a few Euro on Leicester at 19.25 to beat Man City tomorrow. What a price!
Man City have been winning narrowly, will be under massive pressure to win, and Leicester are no mugs, 9th in the Premier League.

Iridessa gave 3 pound to lady kaya that day and went 4 wide round the home turn giving away considerable ground.
Iridessa had beaten Hermosa a few times previously so I don't believe she ran to her best today.

huge price no doubt and they could cause them problems but they've nothing to play for hence the price I guess
I really hope you are right though, would be chuffed with a draw being a pool fan.
I'm hoping there's a few pool fans in that leicester squad

I don't think they'll win, but they're not a 20/1 shot. They beat City at home earlier in the season and with Brendan Rodgers just in the door, the players will be trying their best to impress their new manager. They've more to play for than Newcastle had on Saturday and that wasn't exactly plain sailing for Liverpool.
As above I don't think they'll win, but you'll see far worse 20/1 shots and there's more than a good chance you'll be able to trade out of the bet at a shorter price in play imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,092 ✭✭✭The Tetrarch

There is a few million for each higher place in The Premier League.
I would be surprised if players do not get a share of the pie.
