The legend himself was over last week for a session at The Gap in Glencullen (beside Johnny Fox's pub).

He seemed to have enjoyed himself anyway. The local lads he is following can fairly throw their bikes around, well impressed with the lad who clears the corner on sacred stone at 3.36 in the video.

My favorite bit is 3:38 when the guy in front of Sam leaps the entire corner :pac: dafuq

Yeah the GAP is great. Worth a half day of uplifts. I was in BPI once about a year ago and the GAP is better. Maybe BPI's improved since then, I don't know.

Both are great parks, but I think the gap is the better, very well designed place, great fun

Definitely worth a day out but as said both are great parks but unfortunately both are equally short there are no long trails. If I were travelling a distance I'd probably add in ticknock in the morning and head down through the top gate in the gap for the afternoon uplifts. Although you'd easily spend the day pinning trails at the Gap.:D

BPI has a long spin off from the Enduro climb and cross country. It's about 5k if you were to include the climb, or around 3k if you were to take it from the top, it branches off from the green trail.

I think BPI has more variety in the trail types though, you can do your jump trail or cross country style across different levels.

Obviously going OT here but as others have said, both good parks and although similar they are different. I went to both, a few weeks apart about 16-18 months ago and at the time I would have said I preferred The Gap. I would say The Gap is more beginner friendly but the biggest downside to BPI for me is the 4hr round trip to get there.
But in saying all that as my skill level has improved since my first visit I might take a trip back down to Roscrea in the next few months to give BPI another try, possibly doing the morning and afternoon session to make the most of the journey.
