I saw this on the news last night. if someone had told me this in person I wouldn't have believed it, its like something you would do in a creche not a college for adults. I wonder what the students will do when there isn't a dog to de-stress them at work when they start working in the REAL world.

I think it’s a great idea. Lots of companies allow workers to bring their dogs to work, Google for example.

Max looks delighted to be chilling with a bunch of handsy college chicks.

    More luck to him.

    Kids, sure.

But these are university students, not kiddies.

I was replying to the work thing, not this university story. If it works for people good luck to them. It would do nothing for me.

A healthy, positive mindset is vital on the lead into exams.

There always used to be dogs wandering around the campus when I went there - twenty years ago. (It doesnt feel like twenty years)

During one accounting lecture a Jack Russell terrier slept under my seat. It was there when we were going into the lecture and I didn't want to wake him.

Do you think you could give an exact date as to when the joy went out of your life or was it a gradual thing over a number of years

I agree. A paucity of study will lead to difficulties.

There was a shaggy sheepdog who used to hang around near the canteen and library in the 90s. He earned the name Archimedes as he used to lie in the shadow of the big yellow sculpture thing that is known affectionately as Archimedes' Balls.

I've been in an office that allowed dogs and i didn't like it. people bringing in their little babies and letting them run round the desk.OK, there was one dog I liked. the rest were annoying.

However seeing stuff like this for colleges is great. I know one that gets puppies and kittens in every year during exams.

Sh1t like exams can be really stressful. Lots of students suffer from anxiety and depression. Something like this is very helpful.

TLDR: Dogs are nice when they're visiting, but not when they're always there.

Grumpy old fúckers angry at young people for petting a dog.

That's a special kind of miserable.

Dog owners can be very inconsiderate. They smile like they're doing you a favour as the dog jumps up on you. No problem with dogs, especially is they're giving grinds.

-A lot of people love dogs.
-Some nice person brings a dog to the library to give people a break from exam stress.
    -(something I'm missing)
    -People complain

For a moment there I thought the dog had Aids.

Dogs are too common though, I want an ostrich on campus or maybe a sealion.

I love this idea. The lead-up to my finals was the most stressful time of my life and I used to wish my parents’ cat was beside me to help me relax.

My only concern is the dog being overpetted. That can be stressful for them.

That’s nice for you. Many people get very stressed about them.

Even with all that in place, the stress can be immense. In TCD, there was no option to repeat finals which piled the pressure on.

There are people in fairness who are deathly afraid of dogs.

I don't think anyone's really getting angry about this. It's more of a 'roll yer eyes' sort of thing for the non-dog-lovers.

Missing the part where the dog took a massive dump in the history section and urinated behind the geography section.

im not 1 bit angry about it, i just think it shows how weak minded the youth of today are. they have no guts, there is practically no difference in the males and females. everyone has anxiety issues these days as well.

it must be because they have their face burried in their phone 24/7 and dont know how to talk to a person face to face.

It has to be those skinny jeans, their testicles have malfunctioned, outputting oestrogen instead of testosterone. Future looks more bleak than ever. :)

Rite of passage, just like the leaving cert. We all went through it, now it is their turn. That’ll learn them.
