    Agree/Disagree?

At first i thought far fetched, but then Penalty Points is a small version of it, so in ways we have this here.

That said if your born into a family with a bad rep, very hard to break out of it when you see a government pushing you down.

You're already in negative credit for being a very angry man.

    Meditate before it's too late!

    You mean.. social welfare?

I think he means the same Social Credit system they have in China, where you have a credit score and it can go down due to negative actions or attitudes. If your score goes too low you can lose access to housing, healthcare, travel and even your bank account, basically becoming a non-person.

Maybe the OP refers to the 'national reputation system' being developed by the Chinese government (2020), it is intended to standardise the assessment of citizens' and businesses' economic and social reputation, or 'Social Credit'.

The system will be one unified system and there will be a single system-wide social credit score for each citizen and business. In 2018, some restrictions had been placed on citizens, which state-owned media described as the first step toward creating a national social credit system.

Combine this with the e.g. uk's rollout of GPS (pin-point location) of offenders, and the (slightly controversial, for a host of reasons) 5G network (leading to widespread RFID/IOT/4K).

Wasting time on the internet -10 points
Criticising the credit system -10 points

The system in China was proposed a while ago - Black Mirror didn't come up with it.

What was wrong with the old method though?

Crazy how fast we are going into what once was dystopian comic book territory. We used to laugh about this sh1t when we were young.
Looking at the armed cops in the last few days in some videos I saw from the US and France and Venezuala, all of them like Judge Dredd wannabes, just makes one feel chilled. The brutality in the heart of democratic Europe on French streets is shocking.
Schools in Barcelona and no doubt soon elsewhere are removing huge swathes of books from children's libraries that are deemed contrary to gender guidelines. Older children are allowed to read works once they have been ''recontextualised''. Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood - stories based on older, archetypal myths the human race have known for 1000s of years.
Master Card are going to have a share holder vote to establish an internal ''human rights committee'' to see if they will stop facilitating payments for organisations they don't approve of politically, or hate groups, as they call them. For now they denote recognisably dodgy groups, but the seeds spread easily.
With logarithms controlling social media platforms so underhandedly now, and all the rest of the stuff going on, I really think we have passed peak freedom.

And in real time too. Look at the insane number of CCTV cameras the UK has and stuff like the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000. This isn't new. China is just catching up on tech the West has had for ages.
