Already there is an episode 3 comment in an episode 2 thread - can we have zero tolerance on this please?

I do not want to see what someone thought of it. I dont want to know if you thought it was amazing or terrible or boring.

When I click into an episode thread I ONLY want to see things about the episode named in the title.

Can we please permanently ban people who KEEP doing this!!

In which thread? I can't see any.

There is already a charter in place to cover those questions and yes it does include a season ban if warranted; however posting that an episode was great is not a spoiler (because every episode has had people stating the episode was great and poor) as it does not reveal anything. Stating that character X died fighting the Y due to a betrayal by Z is a spoiler and if relevant would likely lead to a season ban (or more depending on their history in the GoT forum).

Some of us dont want to know ANYTHING and that includes peoples opinions of the episode.

Wouldn't it be better then to avoid all threads about GOT so?

Don't know why you'd be near this forum if you'd not seen it tbh...

You shouldnt have to avoid a thread that clearly states it is for episode 2 though?

You do not expect to see an opinion on episode 3 in there. We dont even allow people to discuss trailers for the next episode in episode specific threads.

Isnt that the whole point of specific episode threads?

    See my last post.

Im sorry if some of ye arent getting it. But I do not expect to see anything to do with a new episode in an older episode thread that I am already subscribed to and its totally unfair (IMO) for people to be posting about the latest episode in them at 4,30am knowing most of us wont see it til Monday evening and dont expect to see these episode 3 opinion posts in an episode 2 thread.

But yeah, if thats where its at and the mods dont want to moderate it then yes, I will avoid the forum in its entirety until Im fully up to date.

They could easily have clicked the wrong thread. Easy enough mistake to make and not something I'd risk if I'd not seen the episode. Zero tolerance for an honest mistake sounds harsh :p

When someone posts, they "Follow" the thread. That doesn't end when the new thread opens and they post there. It's easy to make the mistake and think you're in the new one if you're just clicking from the homepage.

I avoided the ep.2 threads for that reason, and in fact, I'd nearly argue they should be locked for a day when the new ones come out, so people don't mistakenly get themselves banned.

Oh come on - they are not mistaking an 10 page thread for the new episode thread!! Its blatantly a post made to piss other people who have to wait to see it off. Skating round the rules by simply saying they thought it was great or not.

Fair enough though - I appreciate that an honest mistake could be made.

Bu if this is how it is then I will just stay out of ALL threads on the forum from here on in.

Seems a logical course of action tbh, as for Mods do you expect them to be monitoring the page 24 hours a day?

If someone was trying to piss people off, they'd post an actual spoiler. Not their opinion on it being good or not.

No - but a moderator has in this thread said its not a problem as it doesnt reveal anything - however I think it is a problem and should be acted upon when reported.

However, I seem to be the only one who finds it problematic - so fair enough - I will stay out of the forum altogether.

They dont want to get banned outright presumably.

So they just skate round the edge of bad manners by being annoying.

You seem to be particularly incensed by anything that pertains to an episode you haven't seen, yet you still come into the GOT forum knowing it's possible someone has posted a spoiler and the mods haven't gotten to it yet, they do have jobs as well.

Also, someone saying they thought the next episode is fantastic does not constitute a spoiler, that's just you over-reacting.

Best course is to do what most of us do when a new episode comes out, avoid the forum/social media etc until it's been seen.
I've done this for the last 3 years and avoided spoilers until I seen the episode, not just for GOT, it's not difficult.

    Yes, absolutely it incenses me.

I dont understand why people cannot have basic manners and keep the episode discussion to the relevant threads.

How difficult is it? Its really very very basic stuff.

If someone does it they should be banned IMO. If the mods do not want to moderate this behaviour then fine - I will stay out of the forum.

But it is wrong for a mod to say that its not an issue because no details have been revealed IMO, as I would expect NOTHING in an episode 2 thread pertaining to later episodes. Opinion, details, images, links....nothing.

I rewatched episode 2 last night and came into the thread to say something about IT, not about a later episode - and came across opinion posts about episode 3.

I think it is totally unacceptable.

However, I appreciate the rest of the points made here, so if I am the only one it is bothering then sure - I will stay away from the forum.

Sorry but get off the internet if you dont want spoilers and if you must go online, obviously dont click on any game of thrones links or threads, you cant police what people online talk about, the episode has aired, naturally people are going to want to discuss it.

    Really?

You think it cannot be policed what people talk about in specific episode threads?

It was you who posted the episode 3 comment in the episode 2 thread - I notice its gone now, so someone has policed it.

What is the point in the specific episode threads if its a free for all whats posted?

Or are you just too stupid to understand how it is supposed to work?

What made you go online at 4.30am to give your opinion?

Dying to ruin it for someone else eh? You should be banned from the forum altogether if you cant follow basic etiquette.

But dont worry - if YOU cant control yourself I can still stick you on ignore so your thoughtless actions dont affect me.

"I thought episode 3 was great!" is a spoiler to the extent that "There' s going to be weather tomorrow!" is. Seriously, what about the episode has been spoiled for you?

It's very easy to accidentally click into an older episode thread from the front page, particularly on touch site.

I don't go near this forum, or social media until I've seen an episode if I don't want it spoiled. If I come across a spoiler outside there I'd be annoyed, and again "brilliant episode/Not the best" is not a spoiler.

I'd say the mods have their hands full with actual, legitimate moderation issues during series' runs.

I didnt say it was a spoiler - but I thought the rules were no later episode discussion in current episode threads?

If some people are too dumb to follow that rule, and moderators are unwilling to moderate people who break that rule with their opinion - then thats grand.

How many more times do I have to say it:

I WILL STAY AWAY FROM THIS FORUM FROM NOW ON IF THATS HOW IT IS!!!

It was that poster who broke the rules and then either they deleted their own post or someone else did - either way - it should never have been posted in the first place.

Probably at least as many times as you continue to respond to posts on the forum despite the fact you're staying away?

    Mod:
I think this has gone as far as it will at this stage and the feelz are starting to flow a bit to liberally going towards people ending up with cards for non spoiler related activities.
