Outlook/Hotmail not deleting messages on 1St try

My outlook account has started doing this over last couple of weeks. I select all my inbox to delete and off they go. However, if I go back into it, they are back again. It takes maybe 3 or 4 attempts to get rid of them. Any ideas?

Is this in mail client app or browser?
Phone or computer?

Don't have this behaviour on Web or outlook app on PC, but had sync delay on android phone some times.

That was happening me over the weekend, using the desktop browser. Strange.
