    Breastbone from hare?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Definitely a wishbone or Furcula from a reasonably big bird like a swan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,129 ✭✭✭✭patsy_mccabe

Lower jaw bone of some fish maybe. Did you find on a beach?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

It's not a fish bone. Look up bird Furcula's. It's a 100% match for them.

    Which bird is anyone's guess.

I assume you know what it is op?

I'll take a stab at a pheasant furcula.

You can ask a question if that helps

    Winner! Goose Dinner!

There's no way this wishbone would be broken the way a chicken wish bone would. Like steel!

Your win! You get to put to put up the next mystery object :D

The real thing, I think you are referring to is fairly expensive, especially since I already had the other nessacery part to make it work. Used it quite a bit today and it works well.

Yes, have had one here for years which was next to useless unless you had an anchor point ahead of the last pole, which was often the Jeep or a tractor. But it's a much more useful tool now.
