I recently purchased a PowerPoint 40” TV and I was connecting a USB I purchased like a sata drive and a case and it’s 320GB, it plays the movies and Tv shows off it but then I’ve a 2TB my passport WD hard drive that’s over halfway full and when I connect it to the TV it shows up but I can’t access it. Both hard drives are partitioned to MBR. The only thing I could think of was the WD hard drive is too large as it’s over 1TB full, can anyone confirm this or have any ideas why it’s not working ? Thanks in advance

Could it be that the 2TB is formatted to NTFS? and the 320GB to Fat32? Just beware any reformatting will wipe everything. I'm sure you know that but don't want to cause any major issue. Maybe post in computers and tech forum?

Both are formatted to NTFS and both work as normal in any other TV, but this one doesn’t seem to

Is the 2tb USB powered or mains. Some USBs won't give enough power to the device without help.

It’s USB powered but there’s a white indicator light on the front of it when it gets power and thats lit up plus the TV says no device and when it’s plugged in it shows up as usb 2.0 so it’s showing up on the TV

It's possible the TV doesn't have the software to read a drive that size

If avail, still try with independent power supply - it could be enough just to lit the LED and for TV to recognize that "something" plugged in, no more.
See: USING A POWER BOOSTER CABLE
The My Passport drive is USB or Firewire bus and does not require a separate power supply. A Power Booster Cable (Not currently available for My Passports using the USB Micro connection) may be needed if you are using any of the following:
    • A laptop computer that has limited bus power.
    • USB cable that is longer than 18 inches (22 inches for Passports manufactered prior to 2007)
    • USB hub (we do not support any type of USB hub).
The older Silver Passport may only function properly if you power it with the optional power supply. If you decide to use a third-party USB cable to connect the drive to the computer, the cable may not be able to transfer enough power to the drive (This includes USB "reel" cables and extension cables). Our Online Store Accessories page offers an optional power supply for the older Silver Passport, and the optional Power Booster cable (the Power Booster cable has two USB connectors that plug into two USB ports on the computer).
Also see: My Passport or My Book is not recognized or full capacity not accessed by a Smart TV or DVR

Other thing - is there password protection on it? It could be set to auto-unlock on PC, but won't work on TV
