Lost channels BEFORE storm.

Was putting in a box in my brother's holiday home during the week and I found he was missing channels like,

    5 USA/5Star/Ch5/ITV hd/S4C/ Smithsonian etc.

The dish is really well bolted to Chimney stack and I doubt if it moved, (the exact same reception before and after Storm Hannah),but the LNB seems to be pointing to 5 O'Clock.
Could the LNB be the problem,
    Thanks
    Dave

I could be mistaken but it depends on the LNB, some have the skew built in, I adjusted one recently and set it to 7 o'c, as you look towards the dish, for the same reason, missing channels and it worked.

Is it a Free to Air box? Maybe the frequencies changed since last in the holiday home. They need to be manually re-tuned individually after they change. This is done automatically on SKY or Freesat boxes.

    The channels haven't changed freq/transponder.

This is most likely movement, either of the dish or LNB. The dish being securely mounted isn't a foolproof guarantee that it will stay in place. Very strong winds can still move it around a mounting pole, depending on how 'very secure' it is. Also, over time, cheaper mounting brackets and poles can weaken and even bend slightly in the wind, also putting the dish out of line.

It takes very little movement to start to loose some transponders, usually some dropping out is a sign that movement is happening and the next move or shake could knock them all out.

Thanks lads, I will try moving the LNB slightly when I get a chance. I was using both a Freesat and a Free to air box, so changing transponders is not a problem.
