Any recommended club hurling fixtures on May 3rd/4th/5th?

    Hi folks,

An American friend is visiting Ireland next week. He's a fan of hurling and wants to bring his dad to a match, but the poor miserable eejit leaves a few days before the Championship starts.

I'm trying to find a decent club match to recommend to him on the weekend of May 4th.

I know I can go to the likes of dublingaa.ie and pull up a list of fixtures, but what I want is a recommended match. Something he'll remember. Maybe a local rivalry, maybe one where there will be a few rising stars playing, etc.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately it is a bad weekend to go looking for a match of a decent standard. Senior club players are on inter county duty so there are no Senior Club matches that weekend in league or championship.

The highest level playing that weekend is Senior B and there are no real stand out games, one option would be a match in a nice location and make an evening out of it.

St Sylvesters have a home game in Malahide on the Saturday evening at 6pm against Kimacud in the Intermediate Championship
Likewise Naomh Mearnog have a home game against Parnells at the same time in Portmarnock also in the Intermediate Championship

For something a bit different with a hint of a local rivalry Whitehall play St Vincents in the Junior B Championship on the Sunday morning in Collins Avenue.

But the Dublin Minor Hurlers are due to play Offaly in Parnell Park on Saturday at 2pm and this would be my pick.

For all these fixtures keep an eye for time changes closer to the day due to the bank holiday weekend

Thanks very much, cunavalos. I've directed him to Parnell Park for the minor match.
