sound gone on laptop

    Can anybody offer any advice on getting back sound on a HP laptop, It was ok yesterday. Everything else is normal. Thanks

    Not sure if it works like on my laptop (which is a Toshiba), but you could try this: you right-click on the speakers icon on the taskbar and click on "Sound". Then, on the "Playback" tab, rightclick on the speakers icon and then on "Disable". When that's done, do it again and click on "Enable". It should work.

    try going into device mgr (windows key + x and select device mgr) and under sound uninstall all the items there

    restart laptop
