I have just come across this Calendar competition.

    https://www.ifa.ie/calendarcomp/

Great monthly prizes and €2000 for the overall winner.

However one of the terms and conditions jumps out at me

"All photographs entered in this competition will become the property of the Irish Farmers’ Association. The judge’s selection for shortlist is final, as is the selection of photos for publication. Prizes will not be exchanged for money."

What is people's view on this

clear copyright grab. whatever about buying the copyright of the winner, with the prize money as the price, grabbing copyright of all entries is a dick move.

So every photo that's entered into this competition is now the property of the Irish farmers journal, so let's say they get 1000 entries and total prizes is €5000 they're effectively paying €5 for each image that they now own a can use in future publications, well I for one won't be entering
