    I have a set that I am not using. Ideally wouldnt want to split them though.

    Gimme a ballpark price please sure and I'll see. Have the bike in with a mechanic at the minute to see can he service the existing one.

    I'd sell the pair for €140. They have white hoods but you could easily swap your own if you wished. The white ones are genuine Sram so ain't loose etc.

    See how you get on with your own. There's certain parts that can be replaced so he might be able to sort it. The internals are pretty similar across Apex,Force & Red. I've 1 or 2 possible donors knocking about too if you need parts. I might have something.

    Thanks all, hard to find these bloody things for under 200 quid but I got lucky on a Merlin deal for 138 euro.

    That's a lot of coin for a RH only 10 speed mechanical shifter but all the best with it. Srams great when set up correctly.

    Yeah, I know, it's bananas. When I think at bikes on donedeal with full sram 22 fitted for small money :(. I see a rear derailleur on rutlands for 300 quid!!

    It was by far the cheapest option new, even Force 10 speed was coming in over 150. The rest of the groupset is in great nick and working beautifully, so hopefully this little investment will keep it ticking (silently) away for another generation.

    On the hunt for a compact chainset now though to lower the gearing to pass the bike on to my daughter. - The shopping never stops. :rolleyes:

    Really? That would be fantastic man. Do you know if it's BB30 or GXP (I think I need BB30)

    This one is GXP unfortunately - same BB style as Shimano HollowtechII. Sure let me know. I'd say I took it off a bike in 2012 and it hasn't seen the light of day since.
