How are things Luke O'Mahony here a cork man working in the Middle east and Oman in particular. I am the current head coach of Muscat Rugby club here in Oman and we are currently recruiting for the 2019/20 season. We are for the first time approaching clubs in Ireland and the UK to try and find players. Unfortunately our market for overseas players is curtailed due to Visa requirements so we are only looking for players who are teachers.

We play in the Gulf Conference Championship a second tier of the Middle east rugby set up , we regularly travel to Qatar , Bahrain & Kuwait for away games and also play Saudi Arabia and teams from the UAE. We are an amateur club with a professional feel. Please check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for previous game footage.

We would require players to be of a certain standard , the league here is mixed with skill level , Saudi for example would be J2 level whereas Bahrain and Qatar would be Senior level , Kuwait & UAE teams First division J1 level.

We can encourage players to come over by giving them the current open teaching positions in Muscat , we will assist in the application for the schools where players are already teaching in , the average wage is between 1,200 OMR & 2,000 OMR including accommodation packages , all tax free. If the player is successful in his application we can offer free membership to the club and all its associated discounts (approx. 250 euro per annum) Free playing kit , free flights and accommodation for away games and other perks.

This is a great opportunity to come and play , work and experience life in the middle east for a year or two with the comfort of knowing your going to be playing competitive rugby under the management of a cork man :).

If there is any interest please don't hesitate to get back in touch for more info.

    Thank you for your time.
