We have a yellow tit around the the house making an awful racket pecking at the windows and other things around the house.

We love having little birds around but its waking us all including the baby and its getting very annoying now, it sounds like someone knocking at the door too.

Is there any humane way to put a stop to this?

If it's pecking at glass it's probably seeing it's reflection and attacking it, thinking it's a rival. Find out what parts of what windows it's going for, and put some crumpled up cling film on it - breaks up the reflection but still let's light in. Won't be a problem forever - just a couple of weeks!

As above. Even just closing the curtains can reduce the glare of the reflection.

if you leave the light on in the room this can stop him from seeing his reflection.
A teddybear on the window sill outside can act as a scare crow until he gets used to it and then change the teddy

Your windows are too clean! He can still see his reflection.

Print off an image of a bird of prey and stick it to the window.

When blue tits need an enforcer they call the yellow guy.
Suggest you increase the peanut ration, that should satisfy them.

Some crinkled clingfilm on the window can break up the reflection.
