    Hi all
I'm looking for ideas for holidaying in Ireland around July or August.
Two adults two kids (6+4) and a dog.
A place near a beach would be great, plus other attractions within a short drive would be a plus.
    Don't mind going mid week.
It'd be nice to get a full weekend in plus Mon Tues wed or something similar.
We live in Dublin so no holidays in Dublin!
We are open to the air BnB route.
    Thanks in advance guys.

Dunmore East, is ideal for what you want, with Tramore and Waterford just 20 minutes away

Thanks, Waterford's lovely but we were there last year so we'd like to try somewhere else. Sorry should have mentioned that in the op.

We stayed here a few years ago . Great house. Owner lives next door. 2 minutes walk to the beach.

Head west at least you've some waves to play in, plenty to do in Kerry, Clare direction. Base yourself in lahinch or somewhere like that. Pretty much motorway from Dublin until after Ennis.

I live in Kerry and travel a lot of Ireland with work. Absolutely love Donegal.
Bundoran is a fun spot with kids. Also gives you the option of short journeys to Sligo, Enniscrone,Donegal town and Enniskillen for some over the boarder shopping.

The prices are absolute madness. You would get a family holiday to Orlando for the same price.

We got a weekend in centerparcs in early September for 535. I know it’s more in high season but hardly that much more for the basic lodge???

Basic lodge in August for the weekend for 2 adults 1 child €1100 How are they going to fill this place

Somehow I don't think their target market is Irish middle to low income groups.

You’d be paying double that for a week in Orlando.

Outside of the cost of your lodge and pool use all activities are at extra cost.

Nobody mentioned middle to low income groups For €1100 you could get a much better weekend away, it’s mental money for Longford, it will end up on groupon fairly quickly

You missed my point, noone mentioned demographics but I'm pointing out those giving out about CP's prices are not their target market.

What is there target market? I’m defiantly not it anyway as I must be in the market that has common sense and value for money :D

People will pay their prices. A two bed apartment in the Quality in Youghal is just shy of a grand in mid July. Trabolgan semms to be from €1.1K up. None of these two places are what I'd consider top luxury There is a shortage of self-catering accommodation with on-site activities and facilities.

That place in Youghal is always on the deal websites

Out of season yes but not during July.

The quality inn in clonality is very good for the kids and you've inchadoney beach 5 minutes away. I'd head there before youghal.

Totally agree there is a shortage of self-catering holidays in general in Ireland, especially those with on-site facilities. That said, €3000 for a weekend in Longford, facilities or not, is bananas. Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey is c.€2000 a week for a family room in July which is also bananas despite it's reputation and anyone spending €1000+ for any length of time in Trabolgan is just nuts.

€3000 last year got us flights, transfers & accommodation for two weeks in July in Salou in a self-catering mobile site with excellent facilities.

    Sanguli? Cambrillas?

You can't beat kerry.loads to do.lots of great beaches.....lots of great...beaches.,....did I mention the beaches.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :) You have 2 young kids. I know that's where mine want to be.

Apart from the beaches. There's forest walks, good food(mostly), lots of interesting places to see.

I was in Donegal last year for the first time. It's too big to see.lots of driving. My 2 got tired of it.

Camping La Siesta in the centre of Salou. Found it almost by accident.

I think Sunway list it but we booked direct.

Not as expansive or expensive as Sanguli or Cambrils Park.

    https://www.camping-lasiesta.com/en/

Not to be confused with the similar named place in Calella de Palafrugell which is listed on Canvas and the like
