A true run race looks likely with a number of possible leaders. The market revolves around Karawann and rightly so on paper, but I believe he is well worth opposing. In Britain he continually shaped like a one paced galloper and I feel he excelled on the sticky ground in the Lincon. I don't see him being quick enough at the business end here on quicker ground off a 10 pound higher mark.

Characor looks sure to be in the mix and was quite unfortunate last time. After fighting off his fellow prominent racing rivals he was done late by a closer. I'd imagine they will drop him in a touch further back today from stall 13.

Katiymann shaped better than the bare form last time, but he is a very frustrating type in that he needs to be held up, but simply doesn't have the turn of foot required to land a race of this nature. His best chance of winning a race like this is likely to come at the Curragh with a slight ease in the ground. I'd expect him to be closing late and maybe grab 3rd or 4th.

Jewel Maker travelled well last time and wasn't given a hard race up the inside. He may well step forward with the blinkers applied.

Perfect Tapatino can be passed over back at the mile for seasonal debut given that he is best at 12F.

Saltonstall looks appealing at the prices on the recovery mission after the English Lincon. While I have never been a fan of him I wouldn't put his followers off giving him another chance given the price.

In terms of a selection Marshall Jennings gets my vote. While he preformed to a fair level in listed and group company last year, I feel he is best in a true run big field handicap. After a poor showing in the Lincon he shaped with definite promise last time back in a listed race. He raced keen at times held up off a moderate gallop. Given only 1 tap in the dash for home he stayed going in nice fashion. If the went a true pace I feel he would have been 3rd. The should be no worries on that front today and from a nice draw I think he can come with a late effort to land this contest.

    1. Marshall Jennings
    2. Charcor
    3. Jewel Maker
    4. Katiymann

    1pt e/w Marshall Jennings 10/1 ....Paddys... 5 places

Cheers, Perfect Tapatino was quite unlucky back in 4th. The perils of running a stayer down in trip.

Manjeer looks good value given that his Dundalk run can be forgiven with the way the surface is.

Unlucky Borne, just bumped into one. The joys of these early 3 year old races. Good shout.
