I use 3 Money but I notice that they now have an additional monthly fee.

Are there any other prepaid cards that can be topped up at retail outlets ?

Swirl card can be topped up in stores - http://www.swirlcard.com/

Why not just get a Visa debit card from your bank and use that online? Or N26 / Revolut.

I like the security of prepaid cards. Swirl looks expensive.

Revolut / N26 would be the best option then, as they are free.

Neither can be topped up in store.

There's a reason charges are expensive for in-store top up. If you want that luxury, you've got to pay for the service. Free services aren't as user friendly.

    There’s this one:

But it seems to skim a percent or two when topping it up. Still, meets your criteria.

You could check out iCard - it’s a normal epayment service with a prepaid debit card like Revolut , but also offers 2 virtual cards for free with it. And you can buy additional for €1 i think

Can I ask did you find the cheapest option out there?

In store top up is necessary.

    Thanks

I am trying Swirl & so far so good. Do 3 Money automatically send out a new card when the old one expires ?

I don't know about 3 money, only starting to look into prepaid cards.
