    Not necessarily on those particular days, but a lot of Christians across denominations fast.

    Its a powerful tool in the Spiritual war chest!

    Because of age and illness I am not allowed to fast formally but the spirit of fasting can take many forms.

    So yes, absolutely, and observing Sunday and Friday matters too.

    It's called intermitted fasting now and is a big health trend. There seems to be health benefits from periodic fasting. Some would suggest a 16. hour fasting period every day. It is for insulin levels.
    Maybe the old church teaching were onto something.
