What rights does the Irish Constitution give us?

Since it is Ireland's birthday thought I'd ask. Seem to know way more about the US Constitution than our own. Like people pleading the 5th when in court, or the 2nd Amendment's right to bear arms, or the right to free speech.

Know we had the thing about a woman's place being in the home removed via referendum, and maybe abortion was the same? I assume we have the right to be Catholic and speak Irish in their somewhere.

Is there anything of note in it? Like do I have the constitutional right to piss in someone's garden if they are a Protestant, or have the right to unlimited brown soda bread and creamy butter every morning during winter, or the right to wear my counties GAA jersey if I am going to a match.

McQuaid's fingerprints are all over this one:

    ARTICLE 44

1 The State acknowledges that the homage of public worship is due to Almighty God. It shall hold His Name in reverence, and shall respect and honour religion.

As George Carlin said, when you most desperately need your 'rights', they won't be there.

    short version

Up North if you and your mate want to throw on your orange sashes and start marching down the road , you can't. It has to be signed off in advance.

Down here you just point at Article 40 and away you go.

What did you expect? A reference to Buddha?
