Watches for kids

My 4 year old daughter seems fasinated with my watch box and has asked for a watch of her own.

I've seen a few on Amazon but seeing if anyone has bought a watch for their own kids. Any suggestions?

I got my niece a V Tech "smart watch" in Symths and she loves it.

Thanks for the suggestion. She only 4 and can't tell the time yet. So I'd prefer a watch with a dial and hands so she can learn

From my experience I'd get a digital watch. They can learn the whole concept of time easier first before learning to read an analogue watch. Put it on 12 hour rather than 24. Lots of nice baby-g's she'd probably be interested in. Easy to set casio watches, from my experience with weird brand digital watches is that you'll lose the will to live trying to set them!
Might be worth going to a shop to try one on, it's surprising how small a watch has to be for a 4 year old wrist. No point in buying something that's flopping around her wrist.

I've a 4yr old girl too and she is the same, loves wearing a watch and has had one since she was 2. She is getting better at telling the time, knows whether it is before or after the number the small hand is beside.

This one is 32mm. Is this not a little large for a 4 year old?

Well looks like mine's are 32mm if you include the crown, and is good size for her.

I ended up going for the EasyRead time teacher as she liked the colours more.

Its 33mm so I hope its not too big.

Very cute. You are leading her towards an expensive lifetime hobby/interest though

Looks like a good choice and great to get a younger child into the hobby.

An interesting aside is that i've encountered a lot of older kids - 8, 9, 10 even - who can barely tell the time.

Maybe it's not being emphasised in school any more? I certainly remember it being part of the curriculum at a relatively young age.
