Cork .....things to do today

There seems to be a void in finding out about events going on around the city and county. There have been so many occasions when I wanted to leave the house and go to a sporting event, music event, community event ...anything really to get me out of the house. Never knew where to go....
There are a couple of websites carrying a few notifications but no ‘go-to’ website with a comprehensive list of things happening each day.
Would love to see clubs, venues etc using one site giving us options on things to do ‘today’.
Could be a great ‘start up’ business idea for someone!

because people all differ in what floats their boat it would be difficult to produce a universal website that offers something like you describe.

Why not pick up a local paper?
    Check out WhazOn
Perhaps check out your local shopping centre or community notice board for events? This time of year there are plenty of local community-based festivals going on.

Tnx for that, local papers, whatzon etc and notice boards are the usual places that you might find events, would be very handy though if there was a web site/page with updates on a daily basis ....
