    Hi,

Years ago I used use an aa2 receiver but it's been away in storage for a while. I went to connect it up to my new tv today but cannot get any input. The tv sees a connection but says no signal so the box UI is not showing on the TV. If I connect the box to an older tv it works and it also works on the new tv if i use spark but not enigma2 which is what I'd like to use.

I've seen similar with setting it to 720p or 1080p but neither of them seem to work this time. Has anyone else got an enigma2 box connected up to a new (LG 4k ) tv, if so what video/display settings are you using? Thanks in advance

Edit: the image I have flashed on it is openatv 6.2

in the initial set up you select the display and refresh rate on enigma 2 - try it 720i and refresh of 50hz

check settings - a lot of new tvs are not full hd

If it is "a new (LG 4k ) tv" then it will be easily capable of 1080 :D

I would look to input settings on the TV ..... ensure that the input used is enabled and set up correctly ...... but that does not explain this
it also works on the new tv if i use spark but not enigma2

Are you using the same HDMI cable for all tests?

Is the output resolution the same for all tests?

It is possible that a dodgy HDMI cable will fail at the higher bandwidth of 1080.

Thanks guys, decided to try a different cable and that fixed the problem. The one I was using initially was a 8ft one so that may have been the issue.

One more question! I done a scan and only pulled in around 530 channels. I'm missing the likes of sky news, dmax, pick. I presume this means the dish has moved but thought I'd ask here in case there's something else I haven't thought of.

Think the dish is off. I ran the signal finder and couldn't find anything on 11836 H which should contain challenge and a few others. Then if I search for the BBC one transponder 10773H the SNR is 75-76% and the AGC is 85-86%

0 channels found on sky TP. It's definitely the dish so. Will think about my options and maybe get someone to look at it. Or ditch the dish all together and go with virgin for a while.
