    Hello there,
You may have come to this thread via a notification of an update or by seeing this on the home page.

We have made a small addition to our Terms of Use. Under our own Terms of Use we are obliged to tell you when something in the Terms has changed or been updated. You are more than welcome to read through all of the terms now or at any time by clicking on the Terms of Use link on the footer of any page on the site.

However if you are a tl;dr kinda person or you don't have the time right now, this is what we have added.

On Term 5. What you agree to when joining boards.ie, there is a paragraph at the end of the section headed 'Moderators and Administrators'. This is the paragraph in full with the new bit in bold:
    Moderators and Administrators
In order to allow for the proper administration of boards.ie we make use of third party moderators and administrators. And in order for them to properly carry out their functions as moderators and administrators they require access to personal information concerning you, your boards.ie account and your activity on the site. Such data is only permitted to be used by our third party moderators and administrators for the purposes of administering the site and cannot be used by them for any other purpose. If you agree to be a moderator or administrator for boards.ie you agree that any user personal information available to you is to be used solely for the purpose of administering the site and will not be used for any other purpose.

This is something which up to now went without saying as we trust all mods and admins completely. However in the age of data protection and transparency, this has now been added as an explicit Term of Use to avoid any confusion.

    Thanks for reading.

Can Mods and Admins see our email address?

Apologies if this is not the place to ask this. Just wondering what personal information is available to them.

    Admins can

    Mods and CMods cannot

The e-mail address is wiped when a user closes their account

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
