    Hi guys,

Looking for a recommendation for a new laptop if anyone could help.

    Budget: around €950

Intended Use: General use but will be using for Adobe Photoshop/Indesign/Illustrator and Premiere Pro. With premiere pro, it will be for editing short clips (2-3 minutes max mostly), mainly for social media etc, full HD (will not need for UHD/4K etc). No gaming requirements.

Specs: Looking at 15.6 inch screen. Looking at core i5 or i7. Am I right in thinking 8GB RAM would be enough? If not maybe an option with 8GB but expandable. Also minimum 256GB SSD. Would prefer something mobile and reasonable battery life if possible. Also, Windows 10. Would I be right in thinking i might need something with a dedicated graphics card? Also, with picture and video editing, the screen quality is important.

Any help would be much appreciated and if there is any other information I need to provide please let me know.

this is a good deal (offer ends today 15th) for 800.

not hugely heavy for a 15.6 at 3.7 pounds (still portable) and a good metal build

ram should be ok but you could always buy a 1x16gb stick down the line if really needed and sell the 8gb stick

video editing is actually more about cpu - this 4-core i5 will run it for 1080p sufficiently.

if you haven't bought one yet - this 15.6 inch is a bargiain (not sure when price goes back up) about 630 delivered

    intel i5 8265u (latest intel i5)
nvidia mx150 discrete graphics which will help in combination with the cpu
    8gb ram
    256 gb ssd
1.8kg - thin and light for a 15.6 screen but mainly plastic build.

keyboard could be an issue yes.

could always change region in windows but you'd need to know the symbols then I guess.

if you can go to 14 inch (perfectly fine in comparison to 15.6 imo as it's a diagonal measurement) this looks decent value

this lenovo 530s seems decent for 600 euro

not sure how colour accurate the panels that you'd get on laptops would be - obviously the best laptops have good ones but you can't expect 100% Adobe RGB on the budget to mid-range end.
