Looking for something with a decent groupset, clearance for 28c tyres and a compact to sub compact drivetrain. Something along the lines of a giant contend 1. Have a budget of up to 400€ if anybody has something that would suit?
    Thanks

Been up for sale a few months, very clean, a fair weather bike, say it only has 2k km on it, worth a look id say

    Hi,

    I've a 2013 Giant Defy 1 (alu/carbon forks) sitting in the shed.
The story with it is I got it in March 2013 and on the very first spin I was knocked down. The driver was fully responsible and his insurance company paid for a new bike (I got the exact same one and have ridden it the last 6 odd years). I very much doubt there is anything wrong with it, but I've only used it on a turbo, very rarely, since.
It is a compact 50/34, 11-28 105 10 speed and is pretty much spotless, bar some dirt.
Missus is at me to get rid of it, you are more than welcome to come have a look at it if you wish.
Was 1250 new, I'd take 400 and throw in some look keos with it and maybe a few other odds and ends that I no longer need.
Let me know what you think, no hassle if it being in a crash puts you off tho.
Sorry, meant to add that it can take 25s (I've not tried anything above but should manage 27s with some brake adjustment maybe). size is medium.

Well that's debatable, his hand drawn sketch has seat tube to middle of bottom bracket as 56 cm, which would ordinarily make it a 56 ? Might be worth a look, feck all use on it, met that chap once, i bought his spare tubes, from my conversation with him he's a fair weather rider, follow him on Strava too. Dont know him though as such.

I’m 5 11” with 31-32 inch leg, the owner is 6 and it’s just right. Either way, wouldn’t expect him to drop to €400, I’d be robbing the poor chap

Really appreciate the information but I’d be nervous of it being in an accident tbh but thanks again

    Totally appreciate that.
If you want to take everything bar the forks (which would be the only worry after the crash) we could do a deal on that also.

His missus has him under pressure to sell it, you will find it hard to get a cleaner bike, 2000km is genuine use, you would still be doing well upping your budget a little and trying to do a deal with him, might suit you both.

I’d love to up my budget by I’m at my max at 400, such is life. Surprised he hasn’t sold it tbh

Might also consider something in the “adventure “ road bike mould.
