Hi does anyone know how much data I would need and speed?

At our shed we can get 7mbs download and 1mb upload on vodafone 2.5G

    Would 10gs a month be enough for a 24/7 camera feed ?

7mbs is high for 2.5G are you sure it's not 3G or 4G?

Anyway yes 7mbs with a 10GB limit should work, but make sure you have a plan that stops if data limit is exceeded as costs will increase sharply.
Data usage will vary massively depending on how often you check cameras, how many feeds you have and the quality settings.

I'd consider a better plan if possible, who's your provider?

Vodafone, just thinking isn't it the upload speed at the shed that's important not the download ? I think I have 1.5 mbs. Really want prepay no contract. Would love to spend less that 600 quid between install and charges for the year

Yes, you are correct, but 1.5mbs is still ok for a single HD (certainly upto 720p) feed or multiple SD.

What is Three coverage like in your area? You can get unlimited Data with them if you use a prepay phone sim.

Yes that's the next problem . Three specifically say their unlimited data is only for phones . Also I have a Vodafone mobile broadband band modem I don't have a three one. I also don't have a three sim to test the coverage. I think I can get 10gbs Vodafone for 20 quid prepay have to look into it again

Three say that, but many people using it for data only with no issue. You can most likely use you Vodafone modem for Three also, may need to Google for unlock code but often they are already unlocked. If you already have a Vodafone Modem you may be able to get a sim only post pay with rolling 30 Day contract either.

Edit: don't see rolling contract on Vodafone website. But Three do with up to 750GB limit.

I bought a Motorola camera on Amazon for €145 this year and a 4G vodafone dongle for €40 or €50. I look at the camera using hubble, have to top up the dongle by €20 every 2/3 weeks.
    Working great so far anyway.

Have one of these here too, it's a ptz one, 3rd year using it cost around the 140 mark when I bought it and I bought an unlocked dongle of Amazon maybe 30e delivered and I'm using Tesco mobile for a 10e topup ever 28 days, no contract so just pay 30 euro for the 3months it's needed. would be checking the camera roughly every 2 to 3 hours by day and night for 2 or 3 min at a time, you won't sit looking at the cows lying down chewing the cud. It's a quick look then log off again I have not ran over my usage yet. Think it's a 10gb allowence

Did you not need a specific ip address? Or does hubble do this for you. I have a camera but it seems 'semi' broken! Works fine when connect to app within Wi-Fi range of camera but will not connect from distance when try connect via dongle..

Can i just replace with any camera or will my app connection bee lost also?

    Cheers

Im no expert with this stuff, a neighbour has this set up a few years and set mine up for me.
The Vodafone mobile internet on my phone picks up the signal from the camera/dongle when im away from the house and switches to the internet in the house when im in there.

Have you got "mobile data" switched on in your phone settings?
My phone wont connect with the cameras if im away from the house if this is turned off.
AFAIK any wireless camera can be used with the hubble app.

Edit, i dont know about the specific ip address, my phone just picks up the signal from the camera/dongle and can be viewed using the hubble app.
