Immersion tank leak!

    Hi all,

Any advice on the below images? Very bottom left of main pic is pissing water from the seal/connection right at the tank. I've no idea if this is cold water in or out or if there's anyway to stop without turning off all the water!? There is a valve connected to the pipe but if it's an outlet then I presume there's no point. Saying that, while the tank is full it'll likely keep leaking anyway...??

Hopefully have a plumber coming but it'll be a few hours.

    Any information or advice appreciated

Sorry next post, it wouldn't let me add to the first.

Thanks, it seems like the fitting that's fecked. Should I drain the tank myself?

That's the cold feed to the cylinder. Should be a valve on that pipe. If not then tie up ball valve in the tank that its coming from. Put a garden hose on that spigot and drain the cylinder until you can get it repaired or replaced.

There's a valve on the pipe, I turned it off and only the hot water went off, cold taps still running

It depends on your plumbing but it's likely that bathroom basin cold will also stop after a minute or so.
Anyway if hot has stopped you're good to go with a draindown

One more quick question. Can the heating still be used or would it depend on the set-up? It's oil fired. The heating usually heats the water, that obviously won't work but will the rads?
